Privacy policy
What SortedDesk collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Last updated 20 September 2026.
Who we are
SortedDesk is a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom, selling spreadsheets and printable planners. For anything in this policy, including any request about your data, write to [email protected] and you will get a reply within one working day. SortedDesk is the data controller for the personal data described here.
This website
This site is a single page of text and pictures. It sets no cookies of its own, it has no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising, and there is no form on it that sends anything to us.
Two things still happen in the background, and you should know about both.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare records standard server logs — including your IP address, the page requested and your browser type — to serve the page, keep the site available and protect it from attack. Those logs are Cloudflare's and are kept under their retention policy, not ours.
The page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That means your browser makes a request to Google's servers, and Google receives your IP address as part of it. We do not receive anything from that request and we do not use it to identify you.
The newsletter
If you sign up for the free Shop Starter Kit or the newsletter, you are signing up on a page hosted by Kit (kit.com), which we use to run our mailing list. Kit stores the email address you give, the date you subscribed, and ordinary email activity such as whether a message was opened or a link clicked.
We use that to send you the newsletter and the free kit, and for nothing else. The lawful basis is your consent, given when you confirm your subscription by clicking the link in the confirmation email. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, which removes you immediately and without asking why. We keep your address until you unsubscribe.
We do not sell, rent or share the mailing list with anyone.
If you buy something
Purchases are not made on this site. They happen on Etsy or on Payhip, and those platforms collect your details and process your payment under their own privacy policies. Card details are handled by them and their payment processors, including Stripe; we never see them.
What we do see is the order information those platforms pass to a seller — typically your name, the email address attached to the order, and what you bought — which we use to deliver the files and to answer you if something goes wrong. The lawful basis is performance of the contract between us. We keep order records for six years, because UK tax law requires it.
If you email us
Mail to [email protected] is forwarded to a Google Workspace mailbox. We keep the correspondence so we can answer you and so there is a record if you come back about the same thing later. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering our own post.
Social accounts
We run a Pinterest business account and link to it from this site. If you interact with us on Pinterest, or on any other platform, that platform collects data about you under its own policy. This site does not embed Pinterest, or any other social network's, tracking code.
Who your data is shared with
Only the services that make the business work: Kit for the mailing list, Etsy and Payhip for sales, Stripe for payments, Google Workspace for email and Cloudflare for hosting. Each one processes data under its own agreement and its own privacy policy. We do not pass your data to anyone else, and we do not use it to train anything.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month.
Ask by emailing [email protected]. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, but we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Children
These products are made for adults and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has subscribed, email us and we will remove the record.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will say so in the newsletter rather than quietly editing the page.
