What I check before a product lists
SortedDesk is one person and a set of tools. Nobody has reviewed these products yet, so the fair question is how I know they work. Here are the checks that run on every product before it lists. If a product fails one, it does not go up.
1. The spreadsheet opens and calculates in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers. Workbooks use a short list of formulas that all three understand, and are scanned for anything that does not. After recalculation there must be no error cells. Sample data is labelled as sample data.
2. The printable is checked at print size. Printables come in A4 and US Letter, and I look at them at the size they will be printed, not on a zoomed screen.
3. Every listing image is checked for layout. The ten pictures on each listing are measured by a script so that nothing overlaps the wordmark or the badges and nothing is cut off. The first image also has to survive Etsy's square crop. I then look at all ten side by side before approving.
4. UK figures are checked against GOV.UK. Tax rates, thresholds and deadlines come from the official page, and the source is named. Where a rule changes in a Budget, the product is re-checked. These are record-keeping and planning tools, not tax advice, and nothing in them is filed for you.
5. The listing follows the shop's written rules. A script refuses a listing with a title that repeats &, : or %, anything other than 13 tags, a price below the floor, or a missing AI-assistance line, licence line or trademark line. The rules are the same for every product.
Products are made with AI tools for drafting and layout, then checked and finished by a human, and each listing says so. This page describes checks, not results: it is not a review and nobody is quoted on it. Real reviews appear on the Etsy listing only, from people who bought the product.
If you find something these checks missed, email [email protected] and I will fix it.
